The Village at Surrey Hills is located in the community of Cave Creek, Northeast of Scottsdale, Arizona. This is a townhouse product type consisting of fourplexes and triplexes. The site slopes towards East and the buildings are arranged parallel to the existing contours which resulted in a simple circulation spine running North/South, double loaded only in few places. The units are designed to have an indoor/outdoor relationship and one of the units has a detached Casita opening on to a courtyard. The Desert Contemporary exteriors are carefully articulated to scale down the mass and further enhanced by the use of stone facing and color blocking.
This project won a Gold Nugget Merit Award at PCBC 2008.
