The Aviara home has been designed to capture the imagery, scale, and form of the Spanish colonial homes of the 1920's. A variety of gable and shed roofs at various heights have been used to create articulation and to break down the scale on the street facade. Many features associated with this style, such as a courtyard entry and tower element, recessed windows and doors, wrought iron detailing, ceramic tile accents, and outdoor view terraces have been implemented.
